This is the first post in a series of articles that will show you how to gain more space on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The first step to find more space on your iPad or iPhone is to find out which apps are taking the most space. After you see where all of your space is being used, you can then figure out what you’d like to take off of your iPad or iPhone to gain more space.
1. Open your settings app
2. Touch general
3. Touch usage
4. Touch Manage Storage
After a short wait, your iPad or iPhone will list the amount of space each of your apps are using, starting with the one that’s using the most.
This will give you a starting point to figure out what you can remove from your iPhone (or iPad) to make more space. As you look at this, remember that 1 GB is approximately 1000 MB. You don’t necessarily have to delete this stuff forever. You can just move it somewhere else where it won’t take up space on your iPad or iPhone. Depending on what kind of data it is, you have many different options. After you figure out where the majority of your space is going, use the links below to find out what you can do about it. This list will be updated, so be sure to sign up to hear about the updates via email.
