Do you frequently change your sound input or output on your Mac? Did you know that you don’t have to go to system preferences to do this?
When you click on the speaker icon in your menu bar, usually you get a volume slider:
(If you don’t see this slider, go to system preferences – sound and check the “show volume in menu bar” box)
Now go back to that menu bar icon and hold down your option key while you click on it.
Instead of a volume slider, you’ll see all of the sound inputs and outputs that are available on your device and you can choose a new one. You also have a shortcut that will take you directly to the Sound preferences.
